Fair use policy
Unfortunately due to people abusing Baraphrase’s free service I have had to introduce a fair use policy. The policy works like this:
- Every user gets 10 transcriptions, translations and/or summaries per day.
- If you have been a user for more than 3 months, this limit will rise to 20.
- If you generate more than 10 errors per day at any point, you will be banned. This is due to many new users attempting to spam the bots with multiple video and audio files for unknown purposes. If you can’t read a simple error message, this service is not for you.

Can I pay to raise my limits?
No.
Can I still send voice notes of any length?
Yes, we only count the number of voice notes, not their length.
I sent 600 mp3 files by accident! Can I be unbanned?
No.
You promised Baraphrase would be free forever!
It still is free, just with limits. For context, of the total it costs me to run this service per month, 85% of the cost was paying for 4 users. Aside from the costs, these users were also making the service unusable for others at certain times by queueing 50-100 audio files for processing.
