Our voice note translation service lives on Telegram, as it provides a more open service than Messenger, and has no cost.
Here’s how to send us a voice note from Messenger:
- Long-press the voice note in Messenger
- Choose the “share” option:
- For Android, hit the
icon on the top bar
- For iPhone, tap the

- Select Telegram as the share location

Do I need to sign up?
No! You can access our Telegram translation bot totally anonymously if you want to. We don’t need your personal details, nor do we want them.
Is Baraphrase secure?
Yes! We only use the voice notes you send us to create translations, and don’t collect or retain any sensitive information. The data you send us is also never used to train any AI models.
Why do I need to use Telegram?
Telegram provides the best combination of privacy, ease of use and low cost. Other chat platforms either charge to access their service (e.g. WhatsApp), or collect too much personal information (e.g. Messenger).
Are there usage limits?
For now, Baraphrase is totally free. In the future we may introduce paid tiers or advertising to support the service.
Can I send really long voice notes?
Yes! Voice notes of up to 20 minutes should work fine, however bear in mind very long voice notes may exceed Telegram’s message size of 4096 characters.
Can I choose what language to translate into?
Not yet! For now, our bot will automatically translate any voice notes you send into your system default language. So, if your phone is in English, any voice note you send us will be translated into English.
