Do I need to sign up?
No! You can access our Telegram transcription bot totally anonymously if you want to. We don’t need your personal details, nor do we want them.
Is this better than WhatsApp’s built-in transcription?
Not really! We launched this service before WhatsApp had built-in transcription, but people still use it, so we’re leaving it live. If you prefer our method, go ahead and use it. If you prefer WhatsApp’s transcription, that’s cool too.
Is Baraphrase secure?
Yes! We only use the voice notes you send us to create transcripts, and don’t collect or retain any sensitive information. The data you send us is also never used to train any AI models
Why do I need to use Telegram?
Telegram provides the best combination of privacy, ease of use and low cost. Other chat platforms either charge to access their service (e.g. WhatsApp), or collect too much personal information (e.g. Messenger).
Are there usage limits?
For now, Baraphrase is totally free. In the future we may introduce paid tiers or advertising to support the service.
Can I send really long voice notes?
Yes! Voice notes of up to 20 minutes should work fine, however bear in mind that really long voice notes may create a transcript that is longer than Telegram’s message limit (4096 characters).
